Speakeasy Announces Dates for the Annual “Make Your First Impression Count” Communication Workshop for Teens

Business communication consultants at Speakeasy, are inviting eight high school students to participate in an exclusive communication training scheduled to take place in June 2016.

Atlanta, GA – April 20, 2016

With recent studies revealing the true impact that first impressions and dressing for success can have on workplace productivity and career advancement, Speakeasy’s communication consulting experts are announcing the dates for its second annual teen communication workshop. Taking place on June 6th and June 7th, teens from the Atlanta region will have the rare opportunity to get unprecedented access to Speakeasy’s renowned staff and proven communication training skills curriculum. Aptly titled, “Make Your First Impression Count”, this one and a half day experience is designed to teach the future leaders of tomorrow how to effectively communicate with others, nail in-person interviews, and command the attention of any audience.

Make Your First Impression Count Workshop for Teens

To give back to his community, Scott Weiss, CEO of Speakeasy designed Make Your First Impression Count to be delivered exclusively to high school students, entering grades 10 through 12. This unique workshop is limited to only eight students in the greater Atlanta area. These eight participants will be given the chance to assess their communication strengths and weaknesses with some of the leading communication experts in the country. Over the course of two days, the young leaders will gain an awareness of the fundamentals required to create positive and lasting impressions, work on establishing a personal communication style of delivery, and interact with leading professionals to enhance their communication skills.

Weiss explains the mission behind the new program, “With today’s global environment, our future generation of leaders will have to be master communicators. There is no better time, than in high school, to start preparing them for speaking engagements, college and job interviews, or general interactions with their peers and supervisors. I designed this opportunity for teens in Atlanta because I wish I had this when I was younger. We, at Speakeasy, want to open up communication development beyond just the business professional and get our youth thinking about how their communication can drive their success in the workplace and in life.”

To take their communication abilities to the next level, each student will be videotaped and coached through at least five exercises. These learning experiences are designed to help each student look and feel more in charge of crucial speaking situations, community service, and student or community leadership. In addition, to continue the communication progress, all students will receive copies of their video-recorded presentations and complimentary access to Speakeasy’s on-line help center, Speakeasy CONNECT.

Registration is now open to the general public with a reduced $500 fee and is on a first come, first serve basis.
